HP Enterprise recently announced that German soccer club (football everywhere outside of the US!) SV Werder Bremen has selected them as part of a “comprehensive digital transformation initiative.” The goal of this initiative is to improve the fan experience.
The club hopes to achieve this improved experience primarily through the capture and utilization of better data analytics and data intelligence, powered by the HPE Ezmeral platform. According to HPE’s release, The Ezmeral platform “provides a unified access to distributed data, to analytics tools and data-operations processes.”
The company will also be delivering digital services to the club to leverage the resulting data intelligence and make it actionable, the first service of which will be a fan-centric app.
From the release:
“Werder Bremen is one of the most tradition-rich and respected soccer brands in Germany, and we are pleased to help the club take a decisive step in its digital transformation,” said Johannes Koch, Managing Director Germany, Senior Vice President Germany, Austria and Switzerland, HPE. “Data and data analytics are increasingly at the core of any sports business. This transformation project will help Werder Bremen effectively use this resource to provide superior value to fans, partners, athletes and club decision makers.”
